Membrane Technologies Research Group

Aims and Objectives

Membrane Based Gas Separation Research Group is focused on the development of highly selective and permeable membranes and membrane-based separation processes that are resistant to industrial application conditions, which will be used to obtain hydrogen and to capture CO2 from syngas and synthetic natural gas (SNG) obtained from syngas and gas mixtures that occur at different stages in energy production from coal and biomass. The group also focuses on the determination of suitable membrane materials, membrane production, membrane stabilization, preparation of prototype membrane modules at laboratory scale and determination of separation performance.
